Julie Doucet

Project Coordinator and Psychosocial Interventionist

Julie comes from a community intervention background and graduated in "Technique de Réadaptation et Justice Pénale" from La Cité Collégiale in 2015. She has worked in intervention with young people suffering from various mental disorders and on the autism spectrum. In her previous jobs, Julie was able to apply and develop various skills in case management and crisis intervention. These skills have become essential to the Centre in its collaborative role with Centre professionals and families. She offers observation services in schools and home visits. She offers recommendations on setting up routines, schedules and programs to improve different types of family dynamics. These include families with children with special needs, but also families who want help with a busy, fast-paced life. All these interventions are carried out in collaboration and under the supervision of a Centre professional.

Julie also offers lectures and presentations in schools and other work environments on the theme of resilience and improving general well-being, to name but a few.

Julie is the Center's handywoman and one of the co-owners' right-hand men. She is also the Centre's project coordinator. In this role, her strength lies in the fact that she is a passionate member of the community with strong leadership skills and the motivation to help others. Her extensive community volunteer work and humanitarian travels have led her to develop a great respect for others. Julie's community involvement is an important part of her personality, and fits perfectly with the Centre's mission to support the community. That's why she is a member of various community groups representing the Centre, such as a group to help address youth addiction and mental health, committee member ‘’Le Maillon’’ and the administrative committee of the Chaleur Multicultural Association since 2022. She is also a member of the organizing committee for the Wellness Summit.

In short, Julie is an essential member of the Mind at Peace Center, without whom it simply wouldn't be possible. It's hard to know when she has time to breathe, but she loves every second of her work and you'll always see her with a smile on her face. Julie is full of energy and great ideas, and she'll put you at ease from the very first interaction with her. If you have an idea or would like to develop a project in collaboration with the Centre, don't be surprised that Julie is an integral part of its organization.
